March 4th Design

When, why, and how did you start your business? -OR- Brief summary of your business’ services.

I ‘officially’ started March 4th Design in 2012 (I say ‘official’ because now it had a tax ID number). It became my full-time employment in January 2015 when my in-house design job/department was dissolved in a company buy-out. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and wanted the flexibility to be home with our son who was due later that year.

I help businesses communicate who they are, what they do, and why it matters through graphic and web design.

Tell us about your company’s mission and values.

Mission: To create excitement or reignite your passion for your business.

To help you communicate authentically and consistently why you’re the best.

To help your small business ‘march forth’ through challenges and ahead of your competition.

Values: To work hard to understand your needs.

To create lasting relationships built on trust and satisfaction.

To inspire pride in you and your team by understanding the essence of your business and translating that into beautiful and effective design.

Where is your favorite place to have a meeting outside the office?

Sweetwater Chophouse in Defiance.

(I have a pretty intense mold allergy making it difficult for me to enjoy places within historic buildings, unfortunately. Looking at you, Two Bandits, etc!)

Tell us about a chamber event you enjoyed and found memorable – and why.

I really enjoyed our visit to the Water Treatment Plant in Hicksville. Getting a glimpse of the daily operations and steps in the system was quite interesting. Jessi, Water Superintendent, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She gave a great tour!

How has joining the Chamber benefited you?

I’ve already met so many sincerely nice people from the Hicksville area. It’s apparent how much they care about their community. I’ve developed some really meaningful connections outside of business, and also got the opportunity to improve upon the Chamber’s website.

What have you discovered about Hicksville that pleasantly surprised you?

Just how genuinely welcoming and positive the general attitudes are of the people who work and live in the Hicksville area. It’s really refreshing.

What’s something few people know about you or your business?

I have a deep love of learning and am very interested in stoic philosophy, and self-improvement in general.

What do you do in your free time?

Typical stuff – spending time with family and friends. Getting outdoors as much as possible (hiking, kayaking, gardening), beekeeping, and practicing Taekwondo.

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Hicksville Chamber?

Mainly networking. Meeting new people and learning about their unique challenges and passions is a lot of fun.

Anything else you’d like to add?

My office address isn’t typically advertised because it’s in my home. So meetings with clients take place at their office or other locations. Please get in touch – I’d love to hear about your business and how I can help you reach your ideal audience!
